Montessori pedagogy
Montessori pedagogy's purpose is to develop children's petential and help them to get really fullfilled.That educational approach is individualised in order to respect child's rythm,his personality and ownneeds.It encourages self-construction.The classroom is carefully prepared and offers all kinds of opportunities to learn in a totally autonomous way.Learning becomes an exciting experience for every child as it comes from his own choices.Maria Montessori observed that,some specific first steps are more easily made when they correspond to the PERIODES SENSIBLES the child goes through as he grows up.He can feel an irrestible attraction for a certain kind of activities(such as,counting,reading/writting,geography,etc) and learns so much and for long.
As the child acts for himself and by himself,he actually becomes more independant and willing to learn.He also gets more self-confident.The pedagogical material was made in a scientific way. It is progressive and self-correcting.Its origins are a concrete and sensorial method.Maria montessori had seen that,the under 6 years old child gets his intelligence growing through his hands and what he handles in a sensorial way (see Montessori Material).

Rules respect is essential and considered as a real step,and important for the for the child's structuring,his notion of responsabilities.Rules help him to organise his work and live in harmony with others.As a result we get a peaceful,quiet and well-ordered,happy atmosphere.
The purpose is to allow the biggest intellectual, psychological ,physical and artistic potential to appear,as the child gets to draw in an adapted environment.Doctor Montessori wrotte in her book "The absorbant Mind"that,"the most important period of time is between birth and six and NOT during university years.That is,when intelligence,which is the biggest human instrument,develops itself.and this is not about intelligence only,but all his psychic abilities.The child will never need some clever help as much.And any obstruction that makes it difficult for him to create will reduce his probabilities to reach perfection.
